Weekly Classes
The Mindfulness Meditation Classes are held in a hybrid format (in-person and online) every Friday. The teacher is usually remote, but occasionally present in person. Classes are cancelled when there is a weekend retreat: please check the schedule for specific dates.
To attend in person, please join us at 662 Pape Avenue, Toronto (side entrance, basement) of the Presbyterian Church. This is just a 5-minute walk from Pape Subway Station. No registration is necessary. If you would like to have some orientation with an experienced community member, simply arrive early.
Parking: Street parking is available. There is also a Green-P parking lot at the Church, one block south of Danforth.
To attend online, please send a request to torontomindfulnesscommunity@gmail.com to receive the link.
Please read our guidance document Your First Visit to TMC, before attending.
On April 4, Sept 19, and Nov 7, 2026 we will host special Introduction to Mindfulness classes – attendance at these classes is NOT a prerequisite to join us on Fridays.
Classes start at 7:00pm and run until 8:25pm. Please arrive by 6:50pm to get settled in. The class consists of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and a brief talk.
The meditation practice will start promptly at 7:00 with a guided meditation, followed by walking and movement meditation, and then silent practice. There will be a talk to end the session at 8:25pm.
Cost: In the traditional spirit of teachings available to all, there is no defined cost for participation in weekly practice. There is an opportunity to support the session costs with an offering of dana – donation according to one’s means.
Everyone is welcome.

Mediation within Buddhism: Theory and Practice
March 6, 13, 20, 27
Clear and straightforward, Buddhism’s teachings guide both your meditation practice and your life, revealing that the answers you seek are already within you. As a result, Buddhism does not conflict with other faith traditions, instead it teaches that you can observe your inner and outer challenges and validate the reality of your own embodied experience.
Meditation helps you see your own mind, making it possible to intentionally choose how to navigate life and its complexities. It works to transform the negative thinking patterns and behaviours that continue to entrap us.
In this lecture series, Theodore will discuss how applying the foundational teachings of Buddhism supports the daily practice of meditation and can foster positive change, healing, and compassionate living.
The teacher will be in Toronto for class on March 6.
